Our Services
Unsure which services are required for your trees or hedges? On a free site visit, we can advise which services may be most appropriate to achieve your desired outcome, whilst beneficial to the tree's health.
Tree Pruning
Has your tree got too big for its desired location?

A crown reduction reduces the overall size of the canopy. This is a viable method to let more light into a garden, relieve stress on the tree in regards to tree bio-mechanics, and help it to retain its intended structure.

Crown lifting raises the starting point of the canopy, by removing lower branches.

Crown thinning is the act of selectively removing internal branches to allow more light and airflow through the tree. This reduces the tree's density, without reducing its shape.
Hedge Trimming
Need an annual or bi-annual trim? or a complete reshape where a hedge has grown too tall or wide?
In the case of reshaping, we can provide advice on what would be appropriate to meet your desires without damaging the hedge in the long term.
Tree Planting
So you want to plant a tree or hedge?
With over 60,000 species, we can provide advice and recommendations for which may be suitable for its position.
When planting, we will add a compost mix to the soil to add nutrition, stake if required, and add mulch to retain moisture.
Dead Wood Removal
This is a form of safety work, in which we will climb the canopy of the tree to remove major dead wood that could cause injury or damage.

This is necessary for trees in areas that are frequently walked under or have objects/property beneath that could be damaged.
Tree Removal
Like all living things, trees have a natural lifespan, and some live longer than others. Sometimes tree removal is necessary, no matter how regrettable it might be.
This service is the complete, controlled removal of a tree. We may need to dismantle the tree by climbing and setting up lowering systems to prevent damage to nearby surroundings.
Stump Removal
It is often necessary to remove the tree stump to replant or re-landscape.
In most cases, the stumps will need to be ground out using specialist machinery. We will then use the ground stump mulch to backfill the hole where the stump was.
Crown Clean
This is the act of removing dangerous, dying, or crossing branches.

We do this to promote a healthy and structurally sound canopy, whilst minimising the risk of injury or damage to anyone or anything beneath the tree from which branches may fall.

We may also suggest a crown thin to allow greater airflow and light through the tree.
Oak Processionary Moth Removal
Oak processionary moth (OPM) is a relatively new pest to the UK (first identified in 2006). Whilst posing little threat to the tree's health, there are major health concerns for humans and animals.

Hundreds of caterpillars which are covered in toxic hairs will gather in nests in Oak trees. Should you or your pet come into contact with these hairs, it is likely you will develop bad rashes and in extreme cases, allergic reactions.

The nests are active from late spring to summer. TreeLab will climb the trees wearing protective clothing and masks, to extract and dispose of the caterpillars.
